Bananas are my all time favorite fruit to put in my smoothies to make them creamy and delicious. However, the Clean Program’s 21-Day Clean Cleanse kindly says, ‘no bananas allowed.’ Wah.
Bananas don’t make the cut because they are really high in starches and sugar. And although it’s natural sugar, one of the goals during the Clean cleanse is to minimize any form of blood sugar spikes. You’ll thank them in the future when you can walk by Magnolia Bakery without playing the mental game of “should I buy a cupcake.”
So here are five smoothies without banana, that you will still enjoy drinking in the morning. 🙂
