How to Host A Chic Friendsgiving in a NYC Apartment

NYC apartments are just not that big. Like in one of Maria’s old apartments, her oven door opened up and hit her couch. So hosting a friendsgiving, or any dinner party for that matter, can be somewhat of a “spacial challenge.”

But the good news is you can still make it super chic; you just need to get a little creative. Over the weekend I hosted a friendsgiving at my apartment. Now don’t get me wrong, my apartment is beautiful and I have just the right amount of space for me, but I have no kitchen table and with eight girls, lots of food, and even more wine things can get a little tight. So below are my tips for hosting a super chic friendsgiving in a NYC apartment where space is limited. 🙂

Turn Your Coffee Table Into Your Dining Table

Your guests are going to be sitting on the floor. And it’s all good! Maria and I happened to have the same coffee table so we put ours together, but even with one coffee table you can fit six people easily. If you have super nice neighbors borrow theirs for a few hours. The rest of your guests can sit at your island (if you have one!).

 Tablescapes Are Everything

You can make any table look amazing with a good scape. I literally found the greenery down in Flatiron on the street, picked up napkins at Pottery Barn, ordered a burlap table runner on Amazon Prime, and lined up candles that I already had from Homegoods. Keep this simple and chic! We used real plates to keep things “classy.” If you don’t have enough of the same then mix and match! I’m also obsessed with gold or rose gold flatware that I’m seeing everywhere. So if you’re open to splurging a tad this would look amazing as part of the decor and chic vibe.

Don’t Be a Hero, Order What You Need

See this turkey. It’s from Whole Foods. So is the stuffing and the gravy. These were staples that we had no time or desire to make. We wanted to make sure they were delicious, because that’s all the really matters. What we did make were the apps and desserts, and had all the girls bring sides. It will still be a challenge to get everything heated at the same time, like no matter what (Mom we worship you on Thanksgiving Day). So order away! It was only like $150 for the entire staple spread.

 Make a Signature Cocktail

Get a big drink pitcher and make an easy cocktail that fits your event! We LOVE Be Mixed all natural cocktail mixers. They are zero sugar and zero calories, taste so good and are literally the easiest drinks to make. They have amazing holiday recipes on their website. Order mason jars and stainless steel rose gold straws to make the drinks look cute. It’s also always good to have red and white wine. It keeps everything neat and clean, plus is always a classy little touch. I’m obsessed with massive wine glasses like I’m Olivia Pope on Scandal.

 It’s The Company That Matters!

I mean whether you live in a penthouse or a 2×4 studio, if you surround yourself with amazing, inspiring, high vibe people, that’s really ALL that matters! The ladies who joined us are just that and more! xo
