Today is the start of the Clean Program’s 7-Day Cleanse to kickstart our summer bods. 🙂 Alyssa and I are jumping on board for a quick re-set to get our cravings, digestion, and bodies back on track.
This 7-Day Cleanse is a shorter version of the Clean Program’s 21-Day Cleanse created by Dr. Alejandro Junger. It’s perfect for anytime I realize my diet is off… like when I want to buy Mike and Ike’s from the bodega in the subway. Not good.
This cleanse consists of a smoothie for breakfast, a solid meal for lunch, and a smoothie or soup for dinner. Foods are chosen from the Elimination Diet list, which cuts out all processed ingredients, sugar and alcohol. It also eliminates otherwise “clean foods” that are potential allergens or difficult to digest (i.e. gluten, dairy, coffee), foods that are high in starches (i.e. potatoes, white rice), and foods that are high in natural sugar (i.e. bananas, strawberries, raisins).
The cleanse includes antimicrobial, digestive enzyme, and liver support supplements to be taken daily. The nice thing about this program is you can buy the Clean Cleanse kit from the website to make things easier, or just buy your own supplements and protein!
