Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
So I don’t know about you, but I am in need of something green! I am planning on doing a little mini-cleanse from now until Friday to re-set my body and kick the cravings for pie 😉
December can be a challenging month with the holidays. So during times like these I like to do “mini-cleanses” during the weekdays. This way my body is not totally thrown off by a party on the weekend. For me, this little system works to keep me feeling great without needing to stress over every dinner or party I go to. It also keeps me from needing to ask for personal training sessions for Christmas…
This Green Detox Smoothie was my jump start breakfast this morning. The cucumber and mint makes it really refreshing! If you are thinking about trying a mini-cleanse but not sure if you can handle the green goodness just yet, check out some of our other more “indulgent” smoothies and go from there!
- 10 oz of coconut water
- 1 large handful of fresh or frozen pineapple
- ½ fresh pear, peeled and chopped
- 1/2 stalk of celery, chopped
- ½ cucumber, chopped
- 1 handful of kale
- juice from ½ lemon
- ½ teaspoon of grated ginger
- Add all ingredients to blender and blend.
This juice recipe uses melon, but I thought the clean cleanse could not take any fruit other than berries?
Nope! That is for Clean Gut. Cleanse Cleanse includes all fruits except bananas, oranges, strawberries and grapes.
Thank you for all your great recipes.
Love this recipe, will have to try this one myself! For some great tips to detox after the Christmas holidays, you could also try juice drinks that include carrots, beetroot and kale, blended with apples, pears, grapefruit and oranges to taste.
Awesome tip Karly! We love juices but unfortunately don’t own a juicer! So we buy them from Juice Generation or other places of that sort.
What an inspiring blog you ladies have here, I have found a bunch of recipes that I can’t wait to try! I got hooked on clean eating with the ‘clean and lean diet’ book a little over a year and it feels like having found the key to a secret paradise – being able to eat your way to health and happiness, amazing! You have a new follower now, keep up the great work! iida x
Thank you so much iida! 🙂
How many servings are in this smoothie and what’s the calorie count per serving?
1 serving and I didn’t count the calories but very few!
Maria- drinking this juice for a “min-cleanse” did you just drink this for each meal of the day or a few days?
Hey Jessica! If I do a “mini cleanse” I have a smoothie for breakfast, solid meal for lunch (cutting out gluten, dairy, and refined sugar) and a soup or smoothie for dinner for 5-7 days so kind of reset my body and kick the bad cravings. So this smoothie is a great breakfast option!
So what is the difference between the Clean Gut Cleanse and the Cleanse Cleanse? Thanks
The Clean program can probably answer the specifics of that questions better than I can sum it up here! They are pretty similar, but Clean Gut targets the “gut” more specifically and therefore the diet and supplement routine is slightly different than the Clean Cleanse.
