We’ve been posting on natural beauty brands to highlight some easy 1:1 swaps for your current products. But when it comes to natural skin care, you can easily walk past your bathroom cabinet and head straight to the fridge. 🙂
Today we are highlighting a ridiculously easy face mask introduced to us by our 17 year old cousin, who has way better skin than we did at 17.
Plain Greek Yogurt
Honey
Turmeric
Before you grab the Fage, we will explain. This mask is for brightening, acne and wrinkle prevention, and reducing inflammation. Do we ask for more?
The greek yogurt contains lactic acid which is a natural antibiotic. It exfoliates the skin, helps boost collagen and prevent wrinkles. Honey is super moisturizing, antibacterial, helps kill off acne-causing bacteria and evens out your skin tone. And turmeric, the mother of all spices, is anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, skin brightening and reduces both acne and acne scarring.
So whether you choose to eat this little concoction or smear it on your face, the ingredients are amazing for you. I’ve been using the measurements below, which is enough for 3-4 masks. I store the extra in my fridge, and use it around three times a week. I either put it on at night or on the weekends before I am ready to go out. It gives my skin a really nice glow (which I need because I am pale AF right now). Plus, storing this mask in your fridge makes it super cold, which helps with de-puffing. 🙂
- 1 big spoonful of plain greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- Mix all the ingredients together until it forms a paste.
- Apply an even layer to your face and leave on for about 15-20 minutes until it dries completely.
- Rinse off with warm water.
- Store in the fridge for up to one week.
