Oatmeal Banana Smoothie

oatmeal banana smoothie

Memorial Day Weekend Alyssa and I lived up to our words and had a “staycation.” We hit the gym every morning and laid by our pool in the afternoon. It was glorious 🙂

Normally I drink a green smoothie every morning. Spinach for Breakfast 😉 However, that weekend I needed something that would hold me over for the afternoon while I soaked up the sun. I had recently started experimenting with oatmeal smoothies.  This Oatmeal Banana Smoothie is spin off of my favorite baked oatmeal. It’s thick and super filling, yet still easy to digest in it’s liquid form. So whether you are looking for a starter smoothie to replace that morning bagel, or you just wake up hungry, give this one a try!

  • Yummy! Thanks for a great recipe. I have a protein mix that is chalky and I was dreading having to use it since it has 28 servings! But somehow added to your recipe it is great. No more chalkiness. Thanks again!!

  • Maria this looks so yummy! I’m printing it up and putting it in my “Smooth Sailing” recipe binder 😉 I too have a green smoothie every day for breakfast with hemp protein or if I ate too late the night before, then I make one for lunch and skip breakfast, besides maybe a banana with almond butter maybe. I put hemp protein in every smoothie I make so it never tastes as delicious as it would without the hemp, but I might just have to try this one without it 😉 for a “snack” 😉

    • Hey Michelle maybe if you mix your protein in this one you won’t taste it as much! Seemed to work for Charlene!

      • Will do! The hemp usually does taste great with banana and almond butter 🙂 I used to make something similar to this in the winter with my left over slow cooker oatmeal 🙂 Medjool dates really sweeten the deal too 😉

  • This is so good, I found a recipe like this a few years ago and it has been my quick go to breakfast. I have never used almond milk, just dairy milk… next time I go to the store I will try it with almond milk. Thanks!
